Could you tell us about yourself and your professional journey?
I’m Athene Caballero Flores, an educator with over 12 years of experience teaching English and Mathematics to primary and secondary students. My passion for education began early, driven by a desire to make learning not just informative but transformative. Over the years, I have worked with institutions like Truong Vinh Ky High School, Phoenix Global Academy, and Saigon Amazing Grace Academy, where I’ve had the opportunity to nurture young learners and guide them toward academic and personal growth.
How does your work or service contribute to society?
Education is one of the most powerful tools for change, and I take pride in being a part of that transformation. My work contributes to society by empowering students to think critically, communicate effectively, and believe in their potential. Every classroom session is an opportunity to shape responsible, confident individuals who will one day make a difference in their communities. Teaching is not just a profession for me — it’s a lifelong service to the growth of others.
What makes your approach unique or different from others in your field?
What sets me apart as an educator is my student-centered teaching approach. I believe learning should be engaging, interactive, and rooted in real-life experiences. I use positive reinforcement, repetition, and individualized attention to ensure every learner thrives at their own pace. By combining academic rigor with empathy, I create a learning environment where students feel safe, inspired, and motivated to excel.
What is your vision for the future and the mission that drives you?
My vision is to continue fostering globally competent learners who are not only academically strong but emotionally intelligent and socially aware. My mission is to build a generation of learners who think independently, act compassionately, and adapt confidently to a rapidly changing world. I aim to integrate innovation and creativity into education while never losing sight of the human connection that makes learning meaningful.
What are some of your key achievements or milestones in this industry?
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of helping students advance their English proficiency from levels A1 to C1, and of guiding many who once struggled to become confident communicators. I have also managed and mentored teaching teams, conducted classroom evaluations, and introduced modern learning strategies that improved both teacher performance and student outcomes. Earning professional certifications such as International TEFL and TESOL, International Teaching Diploma, and International Diploma in Primary Education have further strengthened my ability to bring global standards into local classrooms.
What keeps you motivated and driven in your work?
The greatest motivation comes from my students — their curiosity, determination, and joy in learning. Every time a student grasps a concept or expresses newfound confidence, it reminds me why I chose this path. Knowing that I play a small role in shaping their futures keeps me inspired to give my best each day.
What are your hobbies, passions, or interests beyond your profession?
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, traveling, and exploring different cultures, as these experiences broaden my understanding and enrich my teaching perspective. I also love creative writing and community involvement, which allow me to connect with people beyond academics and promote lifelong learning values.
What advice would you like to share with our readers for growth and success in life?
My advice is simple yet powerful: Never stop learning. Education does not end in the classroom — it continues with every experience, challenge, and opportunity life offers. Believe in yourself, stay curious, and embrace change as a chance to grow. Success is not measured by titles or positions but by the positive impact you create in the lives of others.
